Instructions apply to the desktop version of Google Chrome and the Chrome mobile app foriOSandAndroid.

To use a shortcut to get into the Google Chrome controls, enterchrome://settingsin the address bar.

In theYou and Googlesection, selectTurn offto the right of your name and Google Account image.

Select the three dots in the upper-right corner of Google Chrome, then choose Settings from the drop-down menu.

SelectTurn offto complete the process.

Optionally, select theClear bookmarks, history, passwords, and more from this devicecheck box before selectingTurn off.

You’re prompted to slide in your Google Account login credentials.

Select Turn off to the right of your name and Google Account image under the You and Google section.

Bookmarks, browsing history, stored passwords, and other prefs are available when sync is disabled.

How to Turn Off Sync for Google Chrome on Android

Open Google Chrome.

Tap thethree dotslocated in the upper-right corner of the Chrome app.

Select Turn off in the Google Chrome sync settings

TapSettingswhen the pop-out menu appears.

TapSync and Google servicesat the top of the prefs screen.

Tap theSync your Chrome datatoggle so that it turns from blue to gray.

To re-enable sync at any time, return to the Chrome settings and select Turn on sync under the You and Google section.

Sync is disabled on your Android unit.

Go to theData Typessection to choose to sync only specific data like bookmarks, browsing history, and passwords.

TapDonein the upper-right corner to return to your browsing session with sync disabled.
