The method you use depends on whatversion of Windowsyou are using.
You will see Command Prompt listed as the primary result.
Right-clickCommand Promptand selectRun as Administrator.

(Or selectRun as Administratorin the right pane.)
SelectYesif aUser Account Controlwindow appears requesting permission to continue.
The Command Prompt window will open.

Typepowercfg.exe /hibernate offinto the Command Prompt window and pressEnter.
kill the Command Prompt window.
Press and hold theWindows Keyand pressXto kick off the Power Users Tasks menu.

SelectCommand Prompt (Admin)from the menu.
Enterpowercfg.exe /hibernate offinto the Command Prompt window and pressEnter.
Entercmdinto the Search box (but don’t pressEnter).

You will see Command Prompt listed as the primary result in the Search menu.
PressCtrl+Shift+Enterto open Command Prompt with admin privileges.
SelectYesif theUser Account Controlprompt appears.

SelectAll Programsand then selectAccessories.
Right-clickCommand Promptin the list of options and then chooseRun as Administrator.
ChoosePower Optionsto open thePower Options Propertiesdialog box.

SelectEnable Hibernationto dump the checkbox and disable Hibernation mode.
SelectOKto apply the change.
Close thePower Options Propertiesbox.
Why Delete Hiberfil.sys?
When your gear goes intoHibernate mode, Windows stores yourRAMdata on the hard drive.
This takes up a great deal of drive space.
When you delete hiberfil.sys from your gear, you will completely disable Hibernate and make this space available.
Re-Enabling Hibernate
If you change your mind, you’re free to easily enable Hibernate again.
Simply kick off the Command Prompt once more.
bang out powercfg.exe /hibernate on, press Enter and wrap up the Command Prompt window.
In Windows XP, simply initiate the Power Options Properties dialog box and select Enable Hibernation.
