When you visit a website regularly, the browsers recognize it as a frequently visited or favorite site.

This makes the site’s icon readily available to you when you open a new tab.

It’s easy to delete these sites one at a time.

Deleting a frequently visited site on iPhone

Frequently visited sites are different from Favorites.

Sites that appear under the Favorites heading are sites you marked as a favorite.

Frequently visited sites are automatically added unless you disable this function.

Turning off Frequently Visited Sites on an iPhone

Open Safari on your iPhone and open a new tab.

You’ll see aFavoritesheading and aFrequently Visitedheading.

To remove a site from yourFrequently Visitedlist, tap and hold the site’s icon.

Removing a frequently visited site from Chrome

TapDeleteon the pop-up menu.

The site is removed from yourFrequently Visitedlist.

Go toSettings>Safari.

Tap theFrequently Visited Sitestoggleso that it turns from green (enabled) to white (disabled).

Repeat these steps to re-enable this functionality at any time.

Open Chrome on your iPhone and open a new tab.

Tap and hold the icon of the site you want to remove.

The site’s icon is removed from your most-visited sites.
