Instructions apply tomacOSCatalina (10.15) through OS X Mavericks (10.9).

Earlier versions of the operating system have similar methods to remove accounts and activate Guest User.

Here’s how to delete a user on a Mac.

Go toSystem Preferencesby selecting it in the Apple menu or by clicking its icon in theDock.

In theSystem Preferencesscreen, clickUsers & Groups.

In theUsers & Groupsscreen, click thepadlockin the lower-left corner.

drop your password and clickUnlock.

Select one of three actions for the account’s Home folder.

These are:

After you make your choice, clickDelete User.

Repeat these instructions if you have other accounts you want to delete.

When you finish, click thepadlockto lock the account and prevent further changes.

Instead, set up a guest account for drop-in use.

Here’s how:

Go toApple menu>System Preferences>Users & Groups.

go for the lock icon to unlock the screen and slide in your admin credentials.

In the left panel, clickGuest User.

Click theAllow guests to sign in to this computercheck box.

Optionally, clickLimit Adult Websites.

tap the lock at the bottom of the screen to prevent additional changes.
