This article explains how to delete them, including empty pages, page breaks, and funky formatting.

Place the cursor at the end of the sentence that precedes the blank or unwanted page.

Can’t find where pages start and end?

Go toFormat>Switch to Pages format.

In our example, we stop at the end of page 2 or the beginning of page 3.

The idea is to select all of page 2 since we want to remove it.

There should now be a long, highlighted mark through the page.

PressDeleteorBackspaceon the keyboard to instantly erase it.

You might be finished now, but take note of where your cursor ends up.

You dont have to actually delete a page if you just want to avoid printing it.

When you go toFile>Print, change thePagesoption toCustomand pick which pages to print.

Thats how it works in Chrome; its similar in other browsers.

Use custom line spacing from the Format menu under Line Spacing in Google Docs.

Undo a Page Break

Creating a page breakcan make blank pages.

Locate the page break.

Since its white space you want to remove, look for a large blank space in the document.

If it jumps down further than a single line, youve got a page break there.

Click once before the page break and press theDeletekey.

Or, go right after the page break and pressBackspace.

You might have to repeat this one or more times if there are extra spaces.

The pages are now consolidated and the page break removed.

Adjust Line Spacing

Google Docs might be adding extra space after paragraphs.

This is a setting that can apply to the entire document and that no amount of backspacing can fix.

Go toFormat>Line & paragraph spacing>Custom spacing.

Lower theAfterparagraph spacing number or just set it to0.

SelectApplyto save and exit the configs.

Making the margins smaller gives you more room to write on each page, thus preventing unnecessary blank spaces.

Go toFile>Page setup.

Adjust the values in theMarginscolumn (in thePagestab).

Lowering the number fixes this.
