Set the width and height to400 pixels, set theBackground ContentstoWhite, then selectOK.
Select theExperttab at the top of the workspace.
Set it toCustomin theTool Optionspanel, then select a shape.

Click and drag across the document to create the shape.
Go toLayer>Simplify Layerto convert the shape to pixels.
Go toSelect>All.

Go toEdit>Define Brushfrom the Selection.
Name your brush and selectOK.
The number under the brush thumbnail indicates the size in pixels.

pick the paintbrush tool and scroll to the end of the brushes palette.
You’ll notice your new brush has been added to the end of the list.
If you ever need to reinstall your software, however, these custom brushes won’t be saved.

To back up your custom brushes, you must create a new brush set.
Go toEdit>Preset Manager.
Select your brush from the bottom of the active brush set and selectSave Set.

Only selected brushes will be saved to your new set.
To include more brushes, hold theShiftkey as you make your selection.
Give your new brush set a name and selectSave.

Open theBrushpalette menu and selectLoad Brushesto load your custom brush sets.
How to Save Variations of a Brush
you might customize the brush and save variations of it.
For example, selectBrush Settingsto adjust how your custom brush looks.

Once you’re satisfied, go theBrushespalette menu and selectSave Brush.
you’re free to then give the variation a new name.
Your brush variations will appear in brushes palette.

After you’ve added all the variations you want, go to theBrushpalette menu and selectSave Brushes.
you could rename and delete brushes by right-clicking a thumbnail in the brushes palette.
