Instructions apply to the Android and iOS versions of the Facebook mobile app.
How to Create a Facebook Avatar
Launch the Facebook app and tapMenu(three lines).
It’s on the bottom right in the iPhone app and on the top right in the Android app.
snag the skin tone closest to yours, then tapNext.
There are various ways to customize your Avatar.
After you select a skin tone, choose a hairstyle.
Then choose hair color, face shape, and eye shape.
Then an eye color, eye makeup, and body shape.
Choose an outfit, and optionally headwear.
TapDonewhen you’re finished.
Facebook will generate your Avatar.
Here’s how to share your Avatar in a new Facebook post or make it your Facebook profile picture.
Open Facebook and tapSettings>Avatars.
Your Avatar will load.
TapShare(arrow), then tapCreate Postto add your Avatar to a new post.
Select a pose, then tapNext.
punch in your message, select an audience, and tapPost.
You’ve shared your Avatar in a new Facebook post.
Your Avatar is now your profile picture.
Go to your Avatar page and tap theStickersicon.
Scroll through to view all your available stickers.
To send a sticker via Messenger, tap it, then tapSend in Messenger.
throw in a message, then select a contact or group conversation, and tapSend.
Your Avatar sticker will be sent via Messenger.
To copy a sticker, tap the sticker, then tapCopy Sticker.
Paste it into a text or email, or somewhere else, and send as usual.
From your Avatar page, tap theStickersicon, tap a sticker, then tapMore Options.
TapMessages,Mail,Instagram,Facebook,Snapchat, or another option.
In this example, we selectedInstagram.
We’re taken to Instagram, where we’re prompted to write a caption.
Then tapOK > Shareto share the Avatar sticker on Instagram.
Find a Facebook post to which you’d like to post a comment, and tapComment.
Tap theAvatar iconin the comment box, then tap a sticker.
Write a comment, if you like, and tapSend.
Your Avatar sticker is included in your comment.
In Messenger, tap a conversation or start a new one.
jot down a message, if you like, then tap theEmojiicon in the message box.
UnderStickers, tap an Avatar sticker.
Your sticker and mesage will be sent.
Adjust hair, clothing, or any other feature, then stash your new look.
