The Analysis ToolPak add-in is required to use the histogram tool.
This add-in is not supported in Excel Online (Microsoft 365).
To begin, enter the data you want to use in your histogram into a worksheet.
In Excel 2016, histograms are a built-in chart option.
grab the entire dataset.
Go to theInserttab and selectRecommended Chartsin the Charts group.
Go to theAll Chartstab and selectHistogram.

Select theHistogramoption, then selectOK.
SelectCategoriesif you want to display text categories.
SelectBin Widthto customize the size of each bin.

SelectNumber of Binsto establish a specific number of bins displayed.
ChooseOverflow BinorUnderflow Binto group above or below a specific number.
end the Format Axis pane when you have finished customizing the histogram.
check that it’s installed before you create a histogram in Excel.
Go to theFiletab, then selectOptions.
SelectAdd-insin the navigation pane.
ChooseExcel Add-insin theManagedrop-down, then selectGo.
SelectAnalysis ToolPak, then selectOK.
The Analysis ToolPak should be installed.
Once you’ve added the Analysis ToolPak, you might access it in theAnalysisgroup under theDatatab.
Enter the data you want to use in your histogram into aworksheet.
Enter the bin numbers you want to use into a third column.
In theAnalysisgroup, selectData Analysis.
SelectHistogramin the Data Analysis dialog box, then selectOK.
The Histogram dialog box will open.
Choose theOutput Rangeif you want the histogram to appear on the same worksheet.
Otherwise, chooseNew WorksheetorNew Workbook.
Select theChart Outputcheckbox, then selectOK.
Excel will insert a static histogram on the sheet you selected.
The add-in is not available in Excel 2011 for Mac.
Go to theToolsmenu and clickExcel Add-ins.
ChooseAnalysis ToolPakin theAdd-ins Availablebox and clickOK.
ClickYesto load the add-in if prompted.
Exit Excel and restart the program.
TheData Analysisoption will appear on theDatatab.
Go to theDatatab and clickData Analysis.
Click theChart Outputcheck box, then clickOK.
Excel will insert a static histogram on the sheet you selected.
