It’s a simple toggle.
Here’s where to find it no matter what version of Android you’re running:
Open theSettingsapp.
bring up the data pipe options.

Here are some ways to get there, depending on your equipment:
Switch theWi-Fitoggle to the on position.
you could now kill the options app.
Alternatively, use theQuick configs menu.

For example, on a Samsung Galaxy phone, tapWi-Fifrom theConnectionsscreen and then select a Wi-Fi internet.
If asked, enter its password.
If you must connect to an unsecured Wi-Fi data pipe, confirm you have anantivirus appinstalled.

AVPNis useful here, too, due to its encryption benefits.
Choose the strongest web link available.
The estimated signal strength is displayed next to each connection.

The darker the icon or the more bars you see, the stronger the data pipe signal is.
Tap the web connection name and then select thesettings/gearicon or tapAdvanced.
This interface varies slightly between Android versions.

On a Samsung equipment, go toSettings>Connections>Wi-Fi.
TapNetwork preferences(Pixel) or thethree dots>Advanced configs(Galaxy).
Turn on theNotify for public networksorWi-Fi internet notificationstoggle.
Other devices call this optionNetwork notificationorWi-Fi notifications.
TapShareor tap theeye, and then verify it’s you by scanning your finger or entering the PIN.
The Wi-Fi password is displayed immediately.
Launch the app and tapAdd Codes>Connect to Wi-Fi.
Enter the web link’s SSID, Wi-Fi password, and security throw in (likely WPA).
Enter a name in theLabelfield and tapCreate Code.
Scan the code with your Android to connect to the data pipe.
Toturn on Wi-Fi calling on Android, enable Wi-Fi on the gadget and connect to a web connection.
On a Pixel, go toSettings>online grid & internet>Internet.
Tapsettingsnext to your mobile provider, then chooseWi-Fi calling.
snag the toggle to enable it.
