Connect Your Chromecast
The following instructions are for Android.
(There may be slight variations between the Android and iOS apps.)
Turn on the TV and double-check the Chromecast screen appears on your TV.
Open theGoogle Home appon your smartphone.
Tap the plus sign (+) at the top.
TapSet up new devices in your home.
Pick an existing home or make a new one, and then tapNext.
Wait while your phone searches for the Chromecast.
TapNextwhen the app finds the Chromecast.
Confirm that the code on the TV matches the one in the app, and then tapYes.
TapYes, I’m in(orNo thanks, if you prefer).
Choose a room to help identify where the Chromecast is, and then tapNext.
Connect Chromecast to Wi-Fi by following the on-screen steps.
TapNextto link your Chromecast to your Google account.
Select thegearicon at the top.
TapDefault TVand see to it the Chromecast TV is selected.
TapHomeand then choose the home that you added the Chromecast to in the above steps.
On the controls page, tapDefault TVand check that the Chromecast TV is selected.
Go back toSettings, tapDefault TVand see to it the Chromecast TV is selected.
To view content from any additional desired apps, they must be sent to the Chromecast using your smartphone.
Some commands include pause, resume, skip, stop, play, and turn subtitles/captions on/off.
Still, there are a number of TVs that have Google Chromecast built-in.
To link Google Home with the TV that has Chromecast built-in, follow the same steps as above.
Casting from a smartphone provides access to more apps.
Tap the plus sign at the top of the Google Home app.
ChooseHave something already set up.
Tap the search icon at the top and enterHarmony.
Once you’ve installed the app:
TapGet moreat the bottom of the IFTTT app.
Search forHarmony, and then select it from the list.
jump in with your credentials.

The installer then makes the phrases work with the Google Assistant platform.

You don’t need a separate Google Home unit or smartphone.

If that doesn’t work, try resetting your Google Home and router.
