Here’s what to do:

pop swing open the Google Home app and tapDevicesat the bottom.

Select your speaker from the list of devices.

Tap thegear/settingsicon in the upper right corner.

grab the current Wi-Fi data pipe, then tapForget data pipe.

Return to theDevicestab and selectAdd.

SelectGoogle Nest or partner unit.

Choose a home for the speaker and then wait for the app to find it.

TapConnectto establish a connection to the speaker.

Tap the Wi-Fi data pipe you want to change the Google Home to, then pressNext.

Tick the box if you want to remember this Wi-Fi password for other devices you might add later.

What Happens When You Change the Wi-Fi for Google Home?

When you follow the steps above, your Google Home unit will start using the new Wi-Fi internet.

You might do this if you have two networks and prefer the unit use your other Wi-Fi online grid.

Other than that, your speaker will continue to work as it did before.

Asking it questions, streaming music, etc., doesn’t change.

However, there is one thing to be aware of.

Even changing a home speaker to a guest Wi-Fi can cause trouble controlling other devices in your home.

This comes in handy when you have multiple home speakers in various locations.

It also prevents others in a multi-family residence from inadvertently activating other devices.

For example, “Turn on the living room lights” will still work in the new setup.
