Open Windows Control Panel.

Select theStart Menuand search forControl Panel, then choose the app to open it.
On the left, selectChoose when to turn off the displayorChange when the computer sleeps.
Next toTurn off the display, grab the menu to pick a different duration.

This is easy to do even if you’ve never executed a command before.

Enter the command as it’s written below to change the screen timeout when the computer is plugged in.

PressEnterto execute the command.
The change will take place immediately.
