If you need the keyboard, and it hasnt appeared automatically, you could bring it up anytime.
You cant bring up the keyboard on some screens in Gaming Mode, including the home screen.
Selecting the search field on the home screen will bring up the keyboard.

The keyboard will appear.
You canconnect a mouse and keyboard to your Steam Deckif you aren’t satisfied with the virtual keyboard.
Press theR2button (right trigger) to grab the text field.
With the text field selected, press and hold theSteambutton, then press theXbutton.
