These deleted messages are stored in the Deleted Items folder until you empty the folder.
Right-click theDeleted Itemsfolder or theTrashfolder and chooseEmpty Folder.
In theOutlook Optionsdialog box, selectAdvanced.
In theOutlook start and exitsection, select theEmpty Deleted Items folders when exiting Outlookcheck box.
SelectOKto apply the changes and kill the window.
If you wish to shut the program and empty the trash folder, selectYes.
If you have second thoughts about emptying the Deleted Items folder, selectNo.
If the trash is already empty, the notification will not appear before Outlook closes.
Empty the Trash in Outlook Online
The Outlook.com Deleted Items folder cannot be emptied automatically.
You’ll need to empty the trash manually.
