How to Appear Offline on Xbox One
initiate the Xbox Guide by pressing theGuidebutton on your controller.
With the Guide open, navigate toSystem(indicated by the gear icon) and then selectSettings.
With the controls menu open, navigate toAccount>Privacy & online safety.
SelectXbox online grid privacy.
If you want to control the information that Xbox apps are allowed to share, selectApp privacy.
Here you might control which apps have access to your location and other data.
SelectView details & customize.
SelectOnline status & history.
Locate theOthers can see if you’re onlinesection and selectBlock.
With this option set, you will appear offline to everyone, including your friends.
ChooseFriendsinstead ofBlockif you want people on your friends list to be able to see your online status.
To completely undo this process, simply selectEverybodyinstead ofBlock.
fire up the Xbox Guide by pressing theGuide buttonon your controller.
Navigate toSettings>Preferences.
With the Preferences menu open, selectOnline Status.
With the Online Status menu open, selectAppear Offline.
With an Xbox 360, there’s no way to appear offline to everyone but your friends.
If you set yourself to appear offline, none of your friends will see that you’re online.
To reverse this process, selectOnlineinstead ofAppear Offlinein the Online Status menu.
Then, press theXbox buttonagain and selectProfile & System>controls>General>connection controls>Go offline.
Then, pop fire up Xbox Startup Troubleshooter and selectOffline system updateto get started.
