Instructions apply to Macs running macOS Mojave (10.14) and later.
You need an Apple TV rig or an AirPlay-compatible smart TV on the same connection as the Mac.
In the Mac menu bar, select theControl Centericon.

In the Control Center, chooseScreen Mirroring.
To start displaying your Mac’s screen on your TV, selectApple TVor the name of your smart TV.
To stop AirPlay, return to the Screen Mirroring menuand selectDisplay Preferences.

In macOS 12, chooseDisplay Settingsin the window that opens.

In macOS 12, selectDisconnectto stop AirPlay.

ChooseDoneto end the window.
Under AirPlay To, choose the Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible TV.
Alternatively, openControl Center, selectScreen Mirroringand choose the name of your Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible TV.
