This isn’t one of those times.

“I think it’s a good idea and technological development, but I wouldn’t call it genius.

Confused

Boox e-readers are a niche product, and its a great niche.

But the Boox Tab Ultra is either a confused mess or a genius design.

To me, this tablet doesnt seem any better than any other tablet out there… First, you could use it to read a book, only on a nice big screen.

Or you’ve got the option to connect the keyboard and pop in anywhereeven in direct sunlight.

Bizarro World

The idea of “niche” keeps coming back, though.

This is kind of a bizarro-world iPad for people who love all things bizarre.

But for some, the idea of an e-ink iPad is hot gold, no matter the limitations.

“Additionally, the e-ink screen is also very easy to read.”

I started this article thinking that the new Boox Tab Ultra was a waste of time.

Now, though, Im not so sure.

You could instead opt for a cheaper, camera-free model, likethe Note Air2.

The good news is, you might enjoy the Boox tablets and never touch actual pineapple pizza.
