Fixmbr Command (Recovery Console)

The fixmbr command is a Recovery Console command that's used to write a new master boot record to a hard drive.

This command is only available from within theRecovery Consolein Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

If no gear is specified, the master boot record writes to the primary boot drive.
