Earlier versions of iOS, beginning with iOS 5 when Apple introduced Find My iPhone, follow similar instructions.
Turn on Find My
The option to set up Find My is part of the initialiPhone setupprocess.
You may have enabled it then.

If you didn’t, go through this to turn it on.
In earlier versions of iOS, tapiCloud>Find My Phoneto turn on the feature.
This optional setting is not required to locate your phone.

TapFind My iPhoneat the top of the screen.
Turn on theFind My iPhonetoggle switch.
Turn on theFind My networkswitch to see your phone even when it’s offline.

Find My online grid is an encrypted and anonymous online grid of Apple devices that help locate your machine.
Like location sharing, this setting is optional and not required for locating the gadget.
Turn onSend Last Locationto have the phone send its location to Apple when the battery is low.

This setting is also optional.
You must haveLocation Servicesturned on to locate your phone’s location on a map.
To check that it is on, go toSettings>Privacy & Security.

The GPS tracking is for you to use, not for someone else totrack your movements.
Open a web web app, go toiCloud.com/find, and enter with your Apple ID/Apple Account.
SelectDevices>your iPhone.

You may be asked to provide your password again.
All iOS devices support Find My, along with Mac computers and the Apple Watch.
AirPods can be located if they are paired with and near an iOS gadget.
A green dot beside the gear or green outline indicates the gear is online.
A gray dot or lack of location details means it’s offline.
What Is Find My?
Find My is a tool thatfinds lost or stolen iPhones.
It uses the built-in GPS or location services of the machine to locate it on a map.
Or, you’re able to view its location on a map to help recover it.
