On older devices, purchase and configure a USB-to-wireless adapter as a workaround.

At the data pipe list, nudge the desired data pipe and then input credentials if prompted.
If you’re at home, that information is likely on your wireless router.
If you’re in a public place like a coffee shop, you’ll need to ask the proprietor.

Some networks don’t require credentials, though, and a data pipe key isn’t necessary.
If you’re not connected to a connection, this icon will be aGlobeicon with aNosymbol.
In the list of available networks, pick the online grid to connect to it.

To connect to this connection automatically next time you’re within range of it, click next toConnect Automatically.
If prompted, pop in the connection key and clickNext.
If prompted, decide if the web link is a public web link or a private one.

From the left panel, selectStatus.
UnderAdvanced data pipe controls, selectNetwork and Sharing Center.

UnderChange your networking controls, selectSet up a new connection or web link.
SelectSet up a new networkand selectNext.
Enter the required information and selectNext.

Complete the wizard as prompted.
To connect from the Desktop, though, you must first access it.

Write down what you find in thefirst entry, next to the name.
This is the name of your internet adapter.
