How to Get Minecraft on Nintendo Switch
There are two versions ofMinecraftfor the Switch.
Heres how to getMinecrafton Switch:
Turn on your Switch, and selectNintendo eShopfrom the home screen.
Press thehome buttonon your right joy-con to go directly to the home screen.
Select aprofileto use with the eShop.
Typeminecraftusing the on-screen keyboard, then selectAcceptor press the+button on your right joy-con.
SelectMinecraftfrom the search results.
If you already ownMinecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition, this button should sayFree Download.
If it doesnt, see to it you selected the correct profile in step two.
SelectCredit Card,Nintendo eShop Card, orPayPal.
Selecting any other amount will add that amount to your eShop wallet for future purchases.
If using a credit card, selectUse This Credit Card.
If you havent yet stored a credit card with the eShop, youll have to enter the details manually.
SelectAdd Funds and Purchase.
Press theX buttonon your controller to leave the eShop.
Minecraftwill now download to your Switch.
When it has finished, select it to start playing.
Heres how to playMinecraftwith your friends on Nintendo Switch:
SelectMinecraftfrom the Switch home screen.
Choose toTurn Offthe screen reader, orLeave Onthe screen reader.
The screen reader is on by default.
If you dont need it, selectTurn Off.
SelectSign In For Free.
You have to sign in to proceed.
If you have a Microsoft account associated withMinecrafton any other platform or an Xbox connection account, use that.
Otherwise, it’s possible for you to create a Microsoft account for free.
Enter the code you received in the previous step, and selectNext.
enter using your Microsoft account and selectSign in.
If youve already signed in to live.com, you wont have to put in your email address.
check that youve logged into the account you want to associate withMinecraft.
If you own the game on other platforms, you should use the email address associated with those purchases.
Wait for theAll Done!message, then kill the web web app and return to your Switch.
This screen will show the Microsoft account or Xbox web link profile youve chosen to associate withMinecrafton your Switch.
Your cross-platform friends can use those to invite you to play.
If you have any Switch friends or cross-platform friends online, they appear in this list.
Any joinableRealmswill also appear in this list.
Just select one, and start playing.
Select Find Cross-Platform Friends if you want to look for friends on other platforms.
