Camera Raw is Adobe’s interpreter for raw camera files.
But given that we already have Lightroom, what’s the point?
This is true for most pro photographers that I know, including myself.

And if youre in the Adobe system, then Lightroom is just perfect.
Photoshop, on the other hand, is not built for bulk imports, or for cataloging.
Photoshop is amazing at careful, detailed manipulation, and its great at that.

But What About Non-Pros?
Photography enthusiasts and hobbyists rarely generate the sheer volume of images that a pro has to manage.
it’s possible for you to totally stick to one app with a locally stored library if you like.
Or it’s possible for you to spread your work out across as many apps as you want.
And anyhow, whynothave Camera Raw in mobile Photoshop?
