To accomplish this, the firmware updateadds lossless audioand ultra-low latency audio to the AirPods Max.
Apple says this enables 24-bit, 48kHz lossless audio, which extends to Personalized Spatial Audio.
In other words, the head tracking feature of the AirPods Max is also improving.
Gamers will also benefit from the ultra-low latency improvement in the firmware since it cuts down on audio lag.
The new cable will allow AirPods Max users to connect via audio jack and is available for $39.
(Though at the time of writing, it appears on the website for $9.)
