If you’re a student, you’re in luck.

Not everyone can use all options, but almost everyone will be able to use one of them.

Office has rebranded as Microsoft 365, but it’s the MS Office you are looking for.

All in your web surfing app (just likeGoogle WorkspaceandApple iCloud).

Here’s how to sign for and use Office.com for free:

Go toOffice.comand clickSign In.

If you already have a Microsoft account, sign into it and skip to step 5 below.

If you don’t, clickCreate Oneto create an account.

To create a Microsoft account, drop your email address, create a password, and drop your birthday.

Microsoft will send a verification code to your email address.

Enter it and solve the puzzle to prove you’re human to complete signing up.

Once you’ve logged into Office.com, you see the main screen.

after you grab some documents saved, they’ll show up in the middle of the screen.

hit the app you want to start using.

You also have to be connected to the web to use them.

Sign up for a paid plan if you want to use the apps offline or on your mobile gear.

you could use this free version if you’re a student or are employed as a teacher.

Sometimes, Microsoft may take time to verify you qualify for this free version.

There may also be some instances in which access is denied.

If you have this issue, contact your school’s IT department.

There is afree trial of Microsoft Officethat will let you use them without paying for 30 days.

Here’s what to do:

In your web internet tool, go toMicrosoft365.com.

Select a Microsoft Office subscription plan and clickBuy Now.

You’ll move to the confirmation screen if you already have a Microsoft account.

Your Microsoft Office subscription starts, and the clock on your 30-day free trial begins.

To avoid paying, cancel before the 30 days run out.

To do that, click your user account icon in the top right and clickMy Microsoft account.

Under Microsoft 365, clickManage.

In the pop-up, clickTodayto cancel right away and thenCancel subscription.

After this, the confirmation screen will let you know you’ve canceled and won’t be charged.
